Story
I am ‘Making a difference’ for our community – please show your support by making a donation to my fundraising page.
Every day in 2016, 43 Australians were told ‘you have breast cancer’. This year, this number is expected to rise to 48 Australians diagnosed each day, affecting thousands of individuals across the country, their families, friends and work colleagues.
These words can turn your world upside down and can sometimes be a very isolating journey. Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer are not alone. BCNA provides access to support, information, treatment and care to help them through this experience.
As a BCNA community champion I am an extension of BCNA’s work in my community. I connect women and men with local supports, information and groups.
In March I will be proudly representing my community at the BCNA National Summit. I have been selected out of hundreds of applicants to attend this event, coming together with community champions from across the country. I’m excited to have the opportunity to learn invaluable skills and information so I can continue to improve the lives of people affected by breast cancer in my community.
By donating on my page you will be helping BCNA continue to support, educate and inspire people like me, to make a difference in my community.
